Nova is a spirit-filled, Eucharist-centered, progressive Catholic community worshiping weekly in Arlington, VA. Members include residents from all over the Greater Washington DC area and others who have moved away but stay connected and frequently drop in from all corners of the globe.

Our commitment is to live a faith-filled life, enriched by the Eucharist, enlivened by friendship, and deepened by service to others. There is a deep respect for each individual’s personal faith journey.

We are a part of a renewed way of being Church where all are welcome, liturgies are inclusive, and decision-making is shared. We have a special sensitivity to those who have not been able to find the worship community they seek in a more traditional setting.

The intention of Nova is to educate and to challenge, to celebrate and to comfort. All of these things often occur weekly in the shared homilies during the liturgy.

With roots reaching back almost 40 years, Nova continues to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to evolve and reach out in ways limited only by our imagination and resources.
